Your job at Rijk Zwaan

As Client Manager Chain, you are responsible for building relationships within the vegetable supply chain including UK Retailers, trading companies, food processors and large growers. 

You fulfil an essential role in collecting market data, following complex market dynamics and initiating new business developments. You share knowledge and work closely with other global Client Manager Chain colleagues, along with crop, client and innovation specialists within the UK. You would also participate in major (inter)national exhibitions and attend seminars based on business needs. In addition, you will be responsible for some key accounts.

This will require the following:

• Developing trustworthy relationships with clients.

• Acquiring a thorough understanding of the needs and requirements of these clients.

• Proposing solutions that meet the objectives of these clients.

• Identifying new opportunities within existing clients and new businesses.

• Acting as contact person between these key accounts and the international crop and client team of Rijk Zwaan.

As Client Manager Chain, you will form part of the Commercial Team within Rijk Zwaan UK. The Commercial Team consists of several other specialists who work on sales activities in the UK, plus an Innovation and Trials Coordinator.  As a team you will keep an eye on the latest developments, respond to trends, and sell concepts and products. 

Your contribution

It is very important that you can network easily at a high managerial level with key players in the vegetable supply chain. You need to be highly organised with an active and practical approach towards problem solving and perseverance. As a proactive collaborator you will need to be resourceful and use your own initiative to develop new business concepts. With your commercial insight, social skills and team mentality you can establish, maintain and further develop long term relationships.

Given the nature of this position, you need to be open to travel nationally and internationally.

In addition, we can find the following on your CV:

• Education to a degree level or equivalent.

• At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience.

• Knowledge of and experience with commercial (product/buyer) dynamics. 

• Knowledge of and experience with operating in an international environment preferred.
